5-Product Summer Makeup Look

Dear friends, here we are! Long awaited summer days, with everything light and bright, have finally arrived. While we get some natural advantages, such as Sun-kisses skin, there is also the heat part that might get really uncomfortable sometimes. And just like we adjust our wardrobes, I believe the makeup routine needs to be adjusted as well.

Regardless of the season I usually opt for the makeup that looks natural and depending on the mood focus on lips or a settle eye. However, when the temperature gets high the light-weight-feeling of makeup becomes just as important as the visual. Therefore, I decided to share 5 of my favorite products for this season and a total everyday look I pull off using only these products.

This Estee Lauder CC cream is probably one of my favorite products of ALL seasons. But the reason I recommend it in summer is because of it’s light feeling. I totally replace any foundation with this cream and while it doesn’t have a strong coverage, it evens out the color on the entire face and with the summer tan it is all I really need. This CC cream gives your skin a natural, healthy glow and even tone which last long hours and contains SPF15 to protect your skin. I feel my skin breath and glow at the same time!

When it comes to brows this tiny Givenchy guy is always by my side. I don’t use pencils or shadows to fill in my brows so this one product does it all for me. It is a brush with tinted gel (I use N1 Brunette), which gives brows the shape and fills in the emptiness with tint. This product is waterproof which is great for summer! Easy and effective – is how I would describe it.

I rarely go for a dramatic eye in Summer but if you are this eye pencil is definitely a keeper. I use this perfectly waterproof black pencil on my lush-line. I try to make as this and invisible as possible but the whole purpose is the casually definition of my eye shape and visual thickness of lushes. If you are looking for a good quality pencil this is the one I recommend. It applies very softly, easily, is water proof and comes with YSL customized sharpener, which is always handy!

Then I move on to my lashes. Here I use this Diorshow waterproof mascara. I also use it in black and love it for the volume effect. To me this is a very simple, great quality mascara, which wouldn’t move from lashes and is always handy to have in bag!

And last but not least is this baby! There so many great things to say about this duo stick! Firstly, it comes in 2 colors (see options here) and you can use both colors multiple ways. In this look I only used the red side as a lipstick but you can also use it as a blush and I even used it as a pink “wet” eyeshadow. It’s just a great product to have in bag to quickly change your look and add a little extra detail to your makeup. Never the less, I show say how moisturizing is this stick, like a balm.

As you can see all these products are summer-approved, either for their waterproof features, or lightness and brightness. I chose to focus on these 5 products as they complete the simply makeup look, when you are rushing out for a long day and I don’t need any extra brushes or applicators which makes the process super fast and simple!

Outfit Of The Week

It was a sunny morning, so I thought why not use the perfect chance to dress in my favorite cycling short. Never the less, I wanted to walk out my dream shoes (since last spring, when Celine showcased them on PFW).
Even though I wore this look to work, I think it is a perfect day-to-night outfit. While heels and blazer make it dressy and professional, this shorts keep it all comfy!

Obviously, I couldn’t help but add some golden details. Works perfectly with the beige accents on shoes. I’ve really been into belts over blazers, recently. I guess this is partly an influence after the last Dior show, where feminine silhouettes and highlighted waistlines were celebrated to the fullest. And talking about PFW- while I absolutely loved shows like, Isabel Marant, YSL, Jacquemus and Chloe, I would say that Celine’s previous collections (and again, my new shoes, which I am so grateful about) looked more appealing to my eye than the collection by Hedi Slimane. I see this as a different esthetic, which is simply not my personal preference.

This was a quick outfit post, which I enjoyed wearing and sharing! Hope this inspired your next long day outfit at any extend.

See you next time … 😍

IMG_1626They say “third time, a charm” and this time Paris was as charming and breathtaking as when we first met. There are lots of places, cities and countries that I plan to visit, however, this city pops up in my head over and over again. And, since Paris is always a good idea I followed my instinct and went back to the city of all my favorite things.

My birthday-vacation with my Mom was exactly what the doctor ordered. Super refreshing and inspiring. From drinking Moet in front of the Eiffel Tour to dinning with the view of Paris on top of the Pompidou Center, we did all the things cliché. And while I have done all the major sightseeing and touristic-destination-visiting on trip N1 and N2, this time was all about enjoying the city. (For example, if, on the first visit I spent 40 min in a queue at the Louvre to see Mona Lisa, this time we stopped by at 9 pm to have a cup of tea in the restaurant inside the Louvre with the view.)

We got really lucky with the apartment as well. I booked this studio apartment in the center of Paris from AirBnb, so, location and interior obviously was not a surprise. However, we discovered the entire place to be filled with fashion books. All the best ones! Every single great designer, photographer.. you name.. their books were in the room. My goal has always been to have a decent collection of this inspiration sources.. at least half of what our host had! 4362554A-C99B-47C3-A225-C89542CA0ACC

One of the highlights of the trip was Yves Saint Laurent museum. From mannequins dressed in Gorgeous handmade pieces to the room where he did his work, the whole experience was quite impressive!IMG_1179IMG_1167IMG_1165

Walking, exploring and tasting whats new was also part of the trip. Making this blogpost brought the best memories in me and while you will scroll through the rest of the pictures, I will hope to get back to the city of my heart sooner than planned.

Fashion Week Heroes

Fashion month is already in its second quarter and changed the location from New York to London. Designers, collections, models, celebrities and street style stars are everywhere inspiring us for the next season. It seems fun and exciting even when you are not part of it and you only observe online. But today I’ve decided not to focus on the stars in front of the lens but instead to highlight the work of the real heroes of every FW- the street style photographers.

There is a lot of controversy regarding who, why and how the street style photographers are shooting but these are all subjective topics. Here are some facts:

  • Street style photographers know the industry inside out. They know everything from the latest trends, newest designers’ collections to every single fashion editor, well-known and rising bloggers and influencer.
  • They have a real sense of style. These photographers have an eye to distinguish good style from peacocking and certain photographers are dressed even better than the people they are photographing.
  • Street style photographers have one of the hardest jobs in the industry. They spend the whole fashion month running from venue to venue, eager not to miss a shot. In cold, in rain, in snow they deliver the images that inspire everyone, including high-street brands. This fact alone makes them legit heroes of fashion weeks.

In my opinion street style photographers are the cool people. They work hard but they never seem too serious, always leaving room for some fun, human contact and even dancing. At the end of the day many of them work for such publication as Vogue, Elle, W magazine, Harper’s Bazaar and others. The profession of a street style photographer has changed drastically throughout the last decade and it went from Paparazzi to a legit member of fashion industry. The rise of social media and blogging was extremely handy as well. Photographers gained followers and power to show their opinion and values. Some like Tamu McPherson turned into style influencers of their own.

I love being busy. I enjoy life being hectic and things happening but sometimes routine takes over, it gets overwhelming and I know that it’s time for a little break. Here weekend getaways come right handy! Therefore, I decided to share with one of my favorite getaway destinations. Winter is not legit without a trip to Gudauri, which is just 2 hours away from Tbilisi and has veriety of skiing mountains. No matter how good your skiing skills are, you will find your element in Gudauri.
There is nothing better than taking rest at one of the restaurants on the mountains, enjoying something hot with the breathtaking view.  Hotel Marco Polo is another place with the view and different ways of relaxation. Even a regular weekend in this paradise brings me harmony, energy and positivity for weeks!

Now back in Tbilisi I have energy and clear head to continue moving ahead and develop Takeau.

Thank you for stopping by and see you next Wednesday!

Weekly Favorites

Last Monday turned out to be perfectly productive for me. Other than finding time to run all the errands and getting small things done, I took a little detour to snap this outfit, starring my new baby bag! This cutest Simon Miller mini nubuck bucket bag has been intriguing me for a while before I got my hands on it. Turns out that this tiny one can fit more than I thought and it makes any casual look so much more upscale.

Shortly about the rest of the outfit: My shoes are Zara (probably inspired by Celine boots, that’s what they remind me), very into these shapes right now. Sweater is COS (great quality! Similar here). Love the long, chunky sleeves and the texture. White shirt underneath is H&M Studio collection AW17 (with high cutouts on the sides). And tailored pants are from Mango. Little tip: I like to roll up the pants in an uneven, effortless way to make tailored pants look casual and cool.

Hope you enjoyed this #ootd post just as much as I felt about wearing and carrying it!

Thank you for catching up!

Stay tuned for the next blogpost next Wednesday!

Takeau X MariElo

You know it is a special project when you can’t wait to share it with the public. I have been thinking about this blogpost for a while now, so let me get right to it!

There’s this girl… with her personal sense of esthetic incorporated in everything she does. Many know Mari Elo as a sophisticated and talented young ballerina performing with the State Ballet of Georgia. However, today I want to share one of the roles she performs in real life. Mari Elo just recently started her own line focusing on handmade knit tops, which she loves to call Cool-Cat-Style tops.

0Z0B1132Last summer Mari decided to spoil herself with the perfectly knitted top for her vacation but after the interest and growing demand from the side of friends, and friends of their friends, and their friends, she decided to make a small collection. The tops are so flattering, comfortable and well-knitted that they quickly became an essential for many summer wardrobes.

I, obviously, have my own Cool-Cat-Style top and I feel special every time I wear it. Therefore, Mari Elo and I decided to collaborate and demonstrate different ways of styling her tops. Working with such an artistic person as Mari and mixing our different visions for the collection is always fun and satisfying.

As for me, I think that every girl needs her own Cool-Cat-Style. In order to find the perfect one for you and get it, simply click here or here. This summer is all about effortless beauty and MariElo’s Cool-Cat-Style tops is what the doctor ordered!

Special thanks to Ika Khargelia for the photography!

Tbilisi Fashion Week AW17

Last week Tbilisi once again united photographers, journalists, bloggers and many new designers with some well-known Georgian creatives for Tbilisi Fashion Week. Most of the shows took place in the museum in the center of old Tbilisi, surrounded by history.

Just like in my previous post about TFW I decided to focus on 2 designers that I loved the most. And just like in my previous post one of them is Mariam Gvasalia.

This season she opened the fashion week and personally for me she is the MUST-SEE at TFW. I enjoyed colorfulness of her AW17 collection, feminine waistlines and cool details.

Moscow based brand LikaforLika had a debut at TFW. From my point of view the designer created an ultimate cool girl on the runway, trendy, busy and very confident in herself.

AND just like me, all the models loved and would have been happy to keep the shoes, that literally shined through every look!

I enjoy fashion weeks for the discoveries like this. Love meeting new people, finding new designers.. you can see more photos from these and other shows here.

Trip to Amsterdam

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I LOVE traveling. I love seeing new places, exploring new cities. After every single journey I feel like I’m opening new perspectives and as a student in the heart of Europe I regarded traveling as a part of my education. When I am thinking of a new place I usually plan the trip to make most of it: I like to know which museums and sightseeing’s I am visiting and when; I like to know where I will have a dinner or when I will be meeting a friend but I guess that’s also creating my comfort zone in an undiscovered place, BUT when I arrive and get to the exploring, I usually let myself get lost, wonder around and get the real experience of the place.

amsterdam-coverAmsterdam made quite a first impression on me. Even though I arrived late night I immediately fell in love with the city architecture from the Central Station. The more I walked the more I felt comfortable and welcome.

Before my visit I saw Amsterdam as a city of Red Light District and legal marijuana but I was surprised to see the number of small art galleries and big museums all in one. I spent hours in museums staring at my favorite works from Von Gogh to Liechtenstein. But there was a lot more I wanted to see bit I was short of time.

Of course flowers! Tulips are one of the symbols of Holland and no trip to Amsterdam could have been without the flower market!

While I never considered it a fashion capital I got quite surprised with the fashion in the streets of Amsterdam. Center was usually filled with tourists but in small cafes like Bakers & Roasters (which I highly recommend for delicious breakfast)  breakfastand not touristic areas good-looking people were dresses in an effortlessly stylish way. The shopping was even better. Despite of the fact that I didn’t have “proper” time to shop I still managed to run through some high street brands, that are not available in Prague or some other European cities (monki, & Other Stories, Urban Outfitters, weekday and more).

As I figured the Amsterdam is also known for vintage shops. One of the most famous vintage shops is Episode. Honestly, I am not a huge lover of vintage but the range of clothing and the prices (!!!) is highly motivating. If you love vintage than get ready to spent hours digging for treasure with excitement!

Writing this I’m starting feeling very nostalgic. There is so much I have to see around the world yet, but Amsterdam is a city that I want to go back to and explore to the fullest. As I said Amsterdam truly became my new favorite city and I will look forward for seeing it again.

garden-amsterdmFinally, I want to express my special gratitude to my very lovely friend Salome. She has been an exceptional host and another reason that made my memories of Amsterdam so warm and welcoming. Along with everything else, as a dancer with Het National Ballet junior company she also gave me a tour of the opera building, which felt like my childhood dream 🙂 I’m looking forward to visiting Salome and Amsterdam again soon!
